Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is that time of year again were I reach out to all my Family, Friends, and Colleagues and ask that you dig deep into your pockets and spare a few pounds for an amazing cause that is PrettynPink Breast Cancer Charity.

For the past several years I have participated in the Belfast Marathon and half Marathon raising monies for this great cause. Sometimes I've put in the training sometimes not (note to self - never run a half marathon with "zero training". Also a portion of Spicy Singapore Noodles the night before the Marathon is definitely not carb loading!!).

This year I am certainly better prepared and will run the first leg (potentially the next leg also), which equates to 9.5 mile. The race this year will be extremely emotional as sadly we lost Noleen Adair (founder of PnP) last year to her fight with the horrible disease that is breast cancer. Noleen passed on the 26th June 2014. Although very ill last year she was still in attendance at the marathon watching everyone finish their race. A very inspiring woman indeed! I know this year she won't be there in body, but will be in spirit and will be the wings on everyone's backs helping them on.....

So here it is, taking inspiration from Noleen, I am setting my sights high with my challenges and my fundraising. Seven has always been a lucky number for me, so my fundraising target is £7777.77. Not an easy sum to hit, but taking note from Noleen, resilience and persistence will get me there. To raise this sum I will set myself the following challenges

- Belfast City Marathon relay

- Dulux Colour Run

- Belfast City Half Marathon

- Dingle Full Marathon (toughest 26 miles in Ireland)

- 2016 Kilimanjaro Trek

(I will do 7 events in total but unsure of the other 2 at the moment)

For those that know me well. I trekked Kilimanjaro a few years back and unfortunately due to a medical emergency we did not complete our goal. Although we did get to the top of Kilimanjaro we did not get to the highest point. I think there is unfinished business - therefore I will go back next year and finish it - all for Noleen and PnP.

Over next 12 months expect to see updates from me, and requests for you to pledge a few £'s to a great cause. I hope I don't tire you out with my requests.

I'll not be able to complete my fundraising challenge without the support of you all. Please take the time to donate - I'm relying on you!!!.
