I did it, I completed the London Marathon 2012!  I crossed the line in under 5 hours (just). Thank you to everyone who has made a donation, I really appreciate your support.  If you haven't yet donated, it's not too late, this page stays 'live' for a few more weeks.

I am running the London Marathon 2012 in memory of my father, Henry Harris (1927-2011) and to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity. 

Dad suffered from prostate cancer for about five years, and led a very healthy and happy life until the autumn of 2010, when the cancer spread to other parts of his body, in particular his bones, and caused him a lot of pain.  Thanks to a great deal of care and support (particularly from the Martlets Hospice in Hove), Dad’s last few months were pain free and he died peacefully on 18 March 2011.

 

In 2004 I ran the London Marathon in memory of my mother, Pat Harris and in aid of Asthma UK.  I raised over £3,000.  Whilst this year I am hoping to match the time I took to complete the 2004 London Marathon (4hrs 32 mins 12 secs), I would love to beat the amount of sponsorship I raised, and exceed £3,000.  An ambitious challenge, but one I’m determined to achieve!
