Story

Hello everyone, If you know me you will know I am a Daredevil who just love doing crazy challenges. just this year I became the very first Deafblind person to ever do the Edge in New York leaning over the Edge of one of the highest building in the world at over 1000 feet. I have my own beautiful Dual Guide dog called Jumble who is my best friend. In the 7 years of having her by my side we have went on many adventures. I was very alone and depressed when I was diagnosed with Ushers syndrome. Ushers is a rare form of Deaf Blindness. I have lost over 90% of my sight now and I am determined not to let my disability stop me achieving my dreams. I was scared to go out or even leave my home when I was diagnosed. When Guide dogs gave me Jumble a whole new chapter of my life started and I was less afraid to leave my room. She gave me my independence back, she is my eyes, ears, independence but most importantly my best friend. She has saved me when I have went to cross the road thinking it was clear and she pulled me back. She makes me laugh everyday and gives me a reason to keep going. Because of Jumble I have started and graduated University, we have raised almost £20000 for charities mainly Guide Dogs.went on many adventures, Volunteer all over Scotland and went around schools and business to share our journey for Guide Dogs. Without Guide Dogs I would still be hiding in my room wondering what my future would look like now I am living life to the fullest before my world goes into full darkness. But I know when the light does go out I will have Guide dogs helping me every step of the way keeping me going. Without them I would not have Jumble and I would not have done even half the things we have achieved together. She giving me a whole new life and the smile will never leave my face because she put the smile there. This charity has given me my life back, made my future less scary yes I am still scared and cry about my sight loss but Jumble knows how to make me smile. She is so much more than a dog she is a life safer and life changer. Please anything you could give would mean the world or even just a share of our page would mean the world. Thank you for helping me support Guide Dogs without your support people like me would never have these amazing dogs in our lives. Please help more people like me have their independence back. Sight loss is scary and can feel very lonely these dogs help take that loneliness away. Thank you Much love always Lisa & Jumble

Every day, 250 more people join the 2 million already living with sight loss. The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
