On the 15th June at Netheravon myself and a couple of other Army Wives will be doing a Tandem Skydive for ABF THE SOLDIERS CHARITY. It is something I have always wanted to do but have never done anything about it so when the opportunity landed in my lap I thought Lets Do It...Its Now or Never!!

It's an added bonus that the Charity is one close to home as my husband in in the Army and I have been an Army Wife for nearly 13 years.

ABF THE SOLDIERS CHARITY supports Soldiers, Former Soldiers and their Families.

What does a tandem jump involve?

A tandem jump is a combined freefall and parachute descent where you are strapped to a professional parachute instructor. On the morning of you jump you will get a full 30 minute briefing on the equipment that will be used for your jump as well as full information on exiting the aircraft, freefall and how to land safely.

Once you have been securely attached to an experienced tandem instructor with a 4-point harness system, you will board the aircraft together. The plan will normally climb to a minimum of 13,000 feet where you will exit and begin your skydive! You will freefall at around 120mph for approximately 1 minute then at around 5,000 feet your tandem instructor will deploy the main parachute and you will begin your descent under canopy.
