Pancreatic Cancer receives less than 1% of cancer research spend, but is the fifth most common cause of cancer death. The 5 year survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer is less than 4%. This MUST change!

While there have been some breakthroughs in research this year, we have also had some terrible news: NHS England has removed life-extending drug Abraxane from the list of approved drugs. In addition, the NICE has announced it will not allow advanced pancreatic cancer patients in England routine access to the drug. Diagnosing pancreatic cancer is difficult and once a diagnosis is made, sufferers often do not have long to live. Extending life by just two months can make a huge difference to patients and their families. 

This year, once again, I will be running as many races as my dodgy little knees will allow me to, to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, in memory of my uncle John.
