Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children & young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. A range of programmes are provided to support their bereavement needs, well-being, education and development.

Story

As some of you know, my nephew Harvey (pictured) lost his father, Anthony, in Afghanistan on August 4th 2009, he was the 192nd soldier to die there and was just 21 days before Harvey's 1st birthday.

Since then we have been involved in a fantastic charity named 'Scotty's Little Soldiers' and Harvey is wanting to do a fun day to raise money for the charity.

The charity is to help make the children of the fallen smile again, the money goes towards holidays, days out, xmas presents and many, many more things, but without funds it isn't possible.

Harvey is hoping to do a fun day this summer to raise money for this charity as he wants to give a little something back, he's thinking a fun day with police and fire vehicles, raffles, food, cakes, prizes, bouncy castle and many more activities for children to do.

Updates will be nearer the time regarding times etc.

Those that are unable to make it on the day are urged to make a small donation, even just £1 makes a difference to what this charity can achieve.

If you'd like to donate, just send a text in the following format if you don't wish to enter your bank details on the site.

£1 (or whatever other amount you'd like to donate)

Please click on the 'gift aid' when making a donation as this adds extra on top of your donation but it doesn't cost you anything.

So for every £10 donated with gift aid the charity will recieve £11.74.

Could people please share this for Harvey, he just wants to say thank-you to such a fantastic charity that is like a part of our family now.

These soldiers died for their country, help us give something back to their children.
