Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.  Please visit www.justgiving.com/Angus-Mailey-Rowland  for more of our story.

The London2Angus walkers made it home... Arriving in Staplefield at 6pm on Sunday 27th May to be greeted by neighbours, family and friends and a great rendition of ‘When the saints go marching in’ by Steve King on the saxophone. It was a fantastic way to spend the weekend of Angus’ 1st anniversary and we, Angus' parents, were honoured to be in the company of 8 young men who laughed, chatted and sang songs all along the way. Thank you to Ellie who was the official walk photographer.

We would thank you ALL so much for your brilliant support and most of all for your texts, tweets, facebook messages  and encouragement along the walk. It was a great way to remember Angus and the love he inspired in so many people and raise money for Angus Rowland FMN Fund@Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The idea...Seven of Angus friends, all united in the death of another, are planning to walk from the place of his boredom and despair in UCH hospital in London, to his place of fun, laughter and his home in Staplefield. His brother Edward who spent all his weekends and many evenings with Angus in hospital will join us on the walk.

Angus left us on May 26 2011. The eight of us are planning to walk the 40 miles from UCH to Staplefield over the weekend of 26/27 May to remember the good times we all shared and to raise money to try and find cures for other teenagers faced with a bloodcancer. We lost our dear friend and brother to a leukaemia that was untreatable and want to make a difference for others in this position.

We would be grateful for your support.  You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal. So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you

Ollie Hopkins, Jake Tweddle, Tom Blunt, Seb Blunt, Pat Wilding, Paddy Nolan, Kyle Barter and Edward Rowland,
