Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.

The CBSO office staff and players are taking on the challenge of learning an instrument they have never played before, in readiness for their Grade 1 in December.

Having not really played anything properly since university I thought this might be fun, and when you have two CBSO violinists willing to teach you, why not?

Thank you very much to Jane Wright and Charlotte Skinner for going through the pain barrier of teaching me (you can see how much fun Charlotte is having!).

The highlight really for me is the fact that the exam pieces includes Eidelweiss and The Muppet Show Theme Tune. I'm sure that the list of pieces for my last Grade 1 (in about 1988!) wasn't that interesting!

The aim of this event is to raise funds for the CBSO who, like almost every other arts organisation in the UK, is feeling the impact of cuts to public funding year on year. Any support you can give will be very gratefully received and will help us to maintain our world class orchestra, choruses and brilliant Learning & Participation programme!

Thank you!
