The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

My name is Lucy Edwards and I am a blind YouTuber/student and activist. My goal is to make a change in this world through using my disability as a tool to prove to people you should never give up. I will never stop telling people about the work Guide Dogs do and how they have changed my life. I honestly believe that without my guide dog Olga I would not be here today. When I wake up every morning she is the one that reminds me that being blind is OK. She is the one that is always there when I feel like I cannot go on anymore because of my blindness. She proves to me that I can have a life that is mobile without my vision. Every day we tackle the outside world together and every day I am grateful for the work Guide Dogs UK does. In the last few months, in order to tackle my depression, I went on the British Blind Sport website and found Steve! We have been running together every Wednesday since and he is a really lovely guy. Our training plan starts in January and I am really excited to be running with him as my guide.

Our goal is to raise at least £2000 for this life changing charity. Bring on the 23rd April!

I will be doing a vlog of my experiences on my YouTube channel! Click the link below to keep up to date!
