Story
In March this year my lovely 93 year old Granny passed away, having had the last few years of her life stolen by the horrible thing that is dementia.
In memory of her, I have decided to try and run the Belfast Half Marathon this month, and hopefully raise a few pounds for Dementia NI, a local charity which supports people living dementia.
Dementia NI's vision is to ensure everyone living with dementia in NI receive accurate and timely diagnoses, have access to appropriate services, and live well with the right support. They also raise awareness, educate, train and challenge the stigma of dementia.
Dementia steals a persons personality, their mind, their voice. Perhaps with the right help and support, we can at least try to maintain their dignity.
So if you have a spare pound or two, I would be so grateful for whatever you can give! Thank you so much, and wish me luck!! x
