It gives me great honor to run the 2022 London Marathon on behalf of the Meningitis Foundation on the 20th Anniversary of my beloved brother, Matt Martuscello's death.

20 years ago this December the world lost an insanely fast fastball, a hard-hitting linebacker, and semi-decent trumpet player. Matt passed away from bacterial meningitis, but his jokes, kindness, compassion, and tremendous impact continues to live on!  

Matt's moments on the pitchers mound, football field and outside of sports continue to be a driving force in all aspects of my life. Matt's #54 Football Jersey framed on our wall, marred with sweat, dirt and stains and signed by all his teammates, is symbolic of discipline and dedication he put into his craft and passion. I wake up every day, and the sight of it serves like a hit of motivation to accelerate my days.

Although Matt is no longer here, I feel like he never left my side and I feel closest to him when I'm running. He will undoubtedly be running with me on marathon day -- October 2nd in London!
