Thanks to everyone for taking the time to look at my fundraising page! 

This is not the first time I will be raising money for a charity but this is by far the most personal and closest to my heart. In 2019 I am raising money for Versus Arthritis in aid of my incredible mother who has battled with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 28 years now since I was born and is still suffering with it today. She is the most inspirational woman I've ever known and despite all what she's been through and still goes through on a daily basis, will never put herself first and always put's a brave face on with a smile. I have very kindly been given a place in the London Marathon 2019 on behalf of the charity and this will be one of many events I plan to take part In next year in my attempt to raise £10,000 for the charity.

In January 2018 I underwent Root Cartilage knee surgery which meant I was in a leg brace and on crutches for almost 3 months. After what has been a turbulent 18 months before and after surgery I am now fighting fit and competing in various events almost every week as I build up towards a monster year in 2019!

None of this would be possible without the amazing support and help I have from my girlfriend Emma who comes to every event & also both our families for everything they do! 

I will update my page regularly with upcoming events, functions & photos and also as I complete them will be letting everyone keep track of that too!

To Date I have the following events lined up as I plan for what is going to be a mammoth year of hard work, training and dedication.

March 23rd 2019 - Mumbles Duathlon - COMPLETED - 26th Overall out of 312!

April 14th 2019 - Amman Valley Triathlon - COMPLETED - 47th out of 300!

April 28th 2019 - Virgin London Marathon - COMPLETED - 3hrs 12mins!! New PB by 38 Minutes!!

June 2nd - 2019 - Swansea Triathlon - COMPLETED - 1hr 17mins - 134th overall out of 798!

August 8th - Versus Arthritis 5k in Swansea - AMAZING TURNOUT! Raised over £2,000 on the event! 

September 8th 2018 -The Great North Run - COMPLETED - 1hr 20mins - 213th out of 56,000 runners!

September 22nd 2019 - Weymouth 70.3 - 1/2 Distance Ironman - COMPLETED! - 5hrs 27mins - Amazing achievement loved every second!

October 26th - Snowdonia Marathon - COMPLETED - 3hrs 23mins - 118th out of 2,333 runners! What an epic event to finish!

The Real Story behind why I'm raising money for Versus Arthritis: My mother Kathie discovered she had Rheumatoid Arthritis just after I was born 28 Years ago. She would notice flare ups in her hands, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles & her feet. This was not all happening at once but was causing a lot of discomfort and through the aid of prescription medication that helped to control the pain for several years. In 2007 my mother had to have a right shoulder replacement due to the Arthritis and then had a left elbow replacement in 2011, again down to the Arthritis. In 2013 the doctors realised that due to her bones not being able to fight the arthritis as well, her Left knee was beginning to crumble away and because of other operations that have happened since this still is waiting to be replaced. Her body has been suffering badly and also due to this recovery is not as easy, in early 2014 my mother broke one of her Big Toe's and it has still not completely healed over 4 years later. In October 2014 she fell whilst crossing the road in Town in Swansea and broke her left arm. They operated to repair the arm however because of the previous operation this caused complications and meant that she was in and out of hospital and had her arm in plaster for the majority of the next 3 years. There have been several operations to try and correct this and the end result was a specialized complete shoulder & elbow reconstruction made out of Titanium which was made in the USA was to be fitted. This itself has had several complications and my mother has been back in hospital for multiple smaller operations over the past 18 months. She is now waiting to have her right shoulder re-done as it has collapsed following the original surgery in 2007. To make matters even more complicated, in the past few years my mother has also discovered she is suffering with a form of Heart Failure which makes every operation she undergoes that much more of a risk, and also has been diagnosed with Osteoporosis. Despite all of this my mother continues to battle on always with a brave smile on her face!
