Dear All,

Given that the football season is now over, and in response to a mate’s comment that ‘I bet you couldn’t do that’, I have agreed to take up the 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of raising money for The Everton Foundation. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the challenge but for those who aren’t the challenge is to climb up and down the highest mountains in , and (Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and ) within 24 hours.

start the challenge at 4pm on Thursday 27^th May at Ben Nevis with the aim of completing the challenge before 4pm on Friday 28^th May at . Training has so far comprised sitting in a pub and locating the 3 mountains on an Ordnance Survey map (my geography degree certainly helped). The proper training will be cranked up in the remaining two and a half weeks before the challenge.

Any sponsorship would be gratefully received, no matter how small, with all monies raised being donated to The Everton Foundation. Furthermore, if I fail to complete the challenge within 24 hours for whatever reason (adverse weather, bad traffic, injury etc) you will pay nothing and I will personally make a donation to The Everton Foundation equivalent to the amount of sponsorship that everyone has pledged. Surely you can’t say fairer than that!
