Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. This page was set up to enable those who would like to make a donation (in lieu of funeral flowers) to Watford Mencap. 

Dad was very community spirited, joining the St John Ambulance Brigade at a young age and serving for 35 years. He only gave that up when he needed to free up time to work for the Downs Children Association and then Mencap. He was chairman of Watford Mencap for a number of years.

He was always proud of the successes of his 6 sons but he was particularly proud that Colin was able to live independently for a number of years before moving into Berrywood, the Mencap home he had helped make happen.

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead. (Nelson Mandela)
