Story
165Km, 5 days, 45 Degrees, carrying 2 Ls of Water, 200gs of cooking kit, 18 Packets of Dehydrated food, 500g peanuts and 1 pot of Vaseline for the marriage tackle. This is my plan running the Oman Desert Ultra Marathon. Did I mention I hate sand!
While committing myself for this long and hot event I want to use the opportunity to raise funds for a fantastic British organisation that continues to save and improve lives through innovative cancer treatments.
Oscar a friend of ours was at the sharp end of cancer whilst a young child. Existing treatments failed and only through cutting edge treatment at GOSH was he able to survive. The story is long and traumatic, but now Oscar thrives is at College studying to be a chef and he contributes by being a reliable and energetic young leader at our local scout group.
The point is research is expensive, GOSH are world leaders, the benefits extend globally, the research can be long but the work is remarkable as are all those people who undergo the treatment they provide.
The OSCAR Campaign was founded by Oscar's parents Phil and Yvonne and has made great bounds in fundraising (£1.5M and counting) and I would like you to help them whilst I try and break myself in the Sand.
Visit the OSCAR Campaign to see what great work has been done and continues in the name of Oscar.
