Story
On Sunday 7th July 2019 a team of over 40 runners will be taking part in the UK Fast City of Manchester 10k run around the Etihad Stadium in memory of our lovely brother Matthew Caine and to raise money for the Brain Tumour Trust.
Matthew sadly lost his life to a brain tumour in September 2018. You can read his story on the brain tumour research website.
After contacting the charity we were not only shocked at how little is known about these tumours but also at how little funding is available to support this and so that is why we have brought together a team of Matthews family, friends, colleagues and pupils to raise some well needed money for this important charity in Matthews memory.
This is a fitting event as it takes place at the Manchester City Etihad stadium, a place where Matthew spent 13 years as a season ticket holder.
We have set ourselves a siginifcant target to raise £5,500! If we do this we will be given two tiles to be placed on the wall of hope at the centres of excellence that the chairty support. These will be added to remember Matthew and we want to aim for two so that one can be from his immediate family and the other can be from everyone that has supported this cause.
The team includes staff from RBS; Charlotte Mills, Jacqui Sharp, Dave Morgan, Chirag Shah, Lisa Mather, Shanna Jeffries.
