We have decided that on either the 10th or 11th May 2014 (which day depends on the weather forecast) the last weekend of M.E. Awareness Week that we will walk as a family team to raise funds for Invest in ME (http://www.investinme.org/ ).  The distance we walk on the day will depend on our level of health nearer the time but it will be either 2.5 or 5 miles.

M.E. has had a devastating impact on our family and altered our way of life completely. Tanya is currently undergoing tests and assessments to establish whether or not she has developed M.E. and Tasha and Tara our youngest daughters have been suffering for several years, Tara became ill when she was 10 (now 14) and Tasha when she was 13 (now 15) and have/continue to miss out on attending school and gaining an education plus the normal teenage social experiences that everyone else takes for granted.  They live life mainly within the confines of the house and the internet.

Through this illness we have met a fantastic group of fellow sufferers and their carers/families, who have become good friends.

We are supporting Invest in M.E. (an independent UK charity) because they are campaigning for bio-medical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.).  They want to establish a national strategy of biomedical research into M.E. and establish a UK and European Centre of Excellence for biomedical research into M.E.

We would be greatful of any support you can give us, be it spreading the word and helping raise awareness or by giving a donation.  All funds raised will help towards ongoing biomedical research into M.E. allowing treatments and cures to be found.  Our hope is that in the future M.E. will be properly understood and supported.
