Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Monday14th October 2013 i will be doing a 10,000ft Tandem Skydive at Langar Airfield Nottingham.

I am doing this in remembrance of May Porter who was sadly taken from us in August 2010.

Born on October 14th 2004, May was a beautiful child with a wicked sense of humour. She was bossy and always wanted to be at the forefront of everything. She was also very caring with her younger brother Joe. May loved girly nights in with her mommy, eating chocolate and watching TV. She was 5 going on 20. May was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer which manifests itself as tumours that affect connective tissues and muscles at the age of four. This was called rhabdomyosarcoma. The main tumour was in her pelvis but it had spread to her lungs, hips, and neck. The chemotherapy treatment lasted for a year and May responded really well to the treatment and the main tumour had gone. Once the treatment had finished the cancer came back even stronger and was found in her neck, arm, shoulder and bone marrow. May was then kept at home via her wishes and sadly left us all on the 31 August 2010. Throughout the chemotherapy May attended school and loved it but only managed to attend for one year. Thankfully before May passed away my mother nominated her to Make A Wish Foundation. May wished to be a princess for the day and Make A Wish Foundation made that happen. May spent a few days at Thornbury Castle dressed as a princess in pink and rode in a pumpkin shaped carriage pulled by white horses with pink feathers on their heads.
