We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

On Sunday Feb 22nd 2020, McCrae's Battalion Trust launched a Crowd Funding campaign to raise £2000 for a carved wooden memorial bench to be made and transported to Contalmaison in France, in memory of Chairman Lt Col Gary Tait MBE and also our friend, Patricia Leroy, former Maire of Contalmaison who died within weeks of each in 2019.

We were absolutely overwhelmed to  have raised the £2000 and more (all surplus will be donated to Cancer Research by cheque) in less than 24 hours.

We took the decision to close that fundraising page, but realised that there were still many Trust members and friends who wanted to make a donation in  Gary and Patricia's names, so we have created this fundraising page to facilitate that. All donations will go directly to Cancer Research, and there is the opportunity to select gift aid, which was not an option on the Crowd Funding page.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity in  remembering these two brilliant and much loved people, who were instrumental in the achievements of McCrae's Battalion Trust, and the continued remembrance of McCrae's.
