Story

My name is Megan and I am 6 years old.

In July 2020 we lost my Grandpa in the middle of the pandemic only 8 short weeks after receiving his diagnosis. Covid stole our last moments and all we had were some socially distanced doorstep visits.

In October of 2020 aged just 4 I did my first ‘Megan’s Miles’ walking 100 miles in the month - I decided to try again the following August but had to cut short the challenge on day 21 and 101 miles in as my other grandad suffered a nasty fall whilst we were out on a walk , this really affected my confidence and I didn’t go for another walk for many months . I suffered panic attacks and flashbacks , woodlands and water were the main trigger, however I have been working super hard on being brave and had decided that I can do my miles again and I want to do it bigger and better. It’s for such a good cause after all ❤️

My Grandpa would have been 75 this year so I’m going for double his age , and because I’m known for having to get ‘1 better’ I’ve rounded it up to 151 🤣 in typical Megan style!

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.

I’m hoping funds I raise can help families have longer together , something that we didn’t get a chance to do.

So in March I’ll ‘Keep Going for Grandpa’ 🚶‍♀️🏅
