Story
Stupid ideas are only ever worthwhile if you make them happen. And they’re especially worthwhile if they’re for a good cause. This is how 'The Megathon' came about. A ludicrous challenge to raise money and awareness for Beating Bowel Cancer (http://beatingbowelcancer.org)
Myself (and anyone foolish enough to join me) will start at the Calf pub in Clapham Old Town on Thursday 11h August. We’ll pedal to Brighton (70 odd miles) in what I hope will be glorious sunshine, before donning suitable attire to walk to Southampton (45 miles, ish). Then, somehow, we’ll swim to the Cowes in the Isle of Wight (2 miles. I think).
We should hit the last weekend of Cowes Week on either Saturday or Sunday, depending how long it takes us. And probably have a bit of a party. http://www.cowesweek.co.uk
Bowel Cancer is the second worst of the cancers, namely it kills lots of people needlessly every year. People have a very good chance of surviving it, however, if they get checked out in time. Talking about bum problems doesn’t come easy, especially to guys, so it’s even more important we make some noise about it and support the work Beating Bowel Cancer does.
Thanks very much for supporting The Megathon, and for supporting this great charity.
Cheers,
Harry
