Michael's Captain's Charity - North Manchester Golf Club

Captain's Charity - North Manchester Golf Club · 15 September 2020
My name is Michael Cumiskey, and I am honoured and privileged to be the Captain of North Manchester Golf Club for the season 2020-21.
My chosen Charity for the year is to raise sufficient funds
to train a Guide Dog for the Blind, which we at the Club intend to call
'NORTH.'
In order to promote my Charity, I am attempting a 140 mile Coast to Coast Bike ride from the West Coast of England to the East Coast, Workington to Tynemouth, on my Mountain Bike.
The route is mainly off-road and I will need to tackle the heights of the Lake District and the Northern Pennines to achieve my goal. I hope to complete the journey in 3 days.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
The total cost to purchase and fully-train a Guide Dog is £5000.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the Members of North Manchester Golf Club, we have so far raised a magnificent £3500!.....which in the midst of a Pandemic affecting so many is truly amazing.
So my Bike Ride is the final push to raise the additional £1500.
Any support you can give, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
