Story
Mike Williams, Adam Nyland & Lewis Wilson
Phil Smith was a friend to all three of us. He was constantly involved in fund raising for numerous charities, but tragically lost his life at the age of 25.
Myself, Adam and Lewis had planned to participate in the Longest Day Golf Challenge in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Trust and now intend to make all donations in Phil's name.
The challenge involves playing 4 rounds of 18holes back to back on Friday 19th June 2015. This will be done at Skidby Lakes Golf Course, Cottingham.
Phil loved all sports and excelled at most. Golf was not his forte and once, when playing the long par 5 17th at skidby. Played to the wrong green. Walking to knock in what he thought would be a fabulous birdie, he encountered a different fourball on the green. He quickly removed his ball and walked away in embarrassment. This is only one example of the laughter Phil brought to his friends.
The three of us intend to complete the challenge in his name (hopefully playing all the holes correctly) and ask that anybody and everyone who can, to make a donation to our cause. We also invite everyone to join us at Skidby to see us play the 72nd hole and then join us in the clubhouse for a well deserved drink, again remembering Phil and the wonderful person he was.
Thank you all in advance for your generosity
Mike, Adam, Lewis and of course Phil.
