So I have been offered a last minute spot on this event to raise funds....I have 2 weeks to prepare and I will be walking the 100km London to Brighton Challenge in aid of the DEC Nepal Earthquake Fund (that's more than 2 marathons, with the aim of completing within 24 hours). I was offered the place last minute as the organisers offered 100 free places on this challenge for this appeal - so I have a little less than two weeks to prepare and raise the minimum £500.....eek!
 
For me, the plight in Nepal is quite personal. I was in the Annapurna region last October when the area was hit with severe weather and avalanches, so I have seen first hand some of the devastation and problems some of the remote areas of this amazing place have already encountered. Many of the friends that I made whilst there have had their houses and entire villages destroyed in the earthquake, and as the news comes in of another one hitting the country so soon, I want to do everything that I can to raise some much needed funds.

We all know someone who has been trekking in Nepal, and their trip wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and support of all those porters, cooks and guides. Now these guys need our help......come on, they deserve it! I am going to push myself to raise as much as possible for those who have already helped us out so much.
