Story
On the 10th June, whilst out on a bike ride training for the challenge in September, I came off my bike and broke my left wrist. After a rather quick visit to A&E, I got told that I had indeed broken my wrist and would be in a cast for the next 6-8 weeks.
On the 9th July, my cast was removed (4 weeks after the accident, whoop), however I was advised by the doctors not to take part in the ride in September. It would take 4-6 weeks to regain full movement and strength. So the likelihood of me being able to use my left wrist on a drop down handlebar would be slim, let along having any time to carry on training before the ride! Following the discussion with the doctor, I made the sad decision to pull out of the ride. Three weeks after my cast removal, I still have limited movement and wouldn't even think about hopping on a bike!!
I'd like to say thank you to those that have sponsored me prior to my accident. It was great encouragement! Your money is going towards a great cause :)
Thank you

Jack and Jill have just climbed a steep hill on their tandem.
"Phew, that was a tough climb," said Jill, leaning over, breathing hard. "That climb was so hard and we were going so slow, I thought we were never going to make it."
"Yeah, good thing I kept the brakes on," said Jack, "or we'd have slid all the way back down!"
Thankfully, I will not be riding with Jack or Jill or on a tandem but there will be hills! In September 2018, I will be cycling 500km from London to Paris for Myeloma UK along with colleagues from Amgen and hundreds of others.
I have always enjoyed cycling of a somewhat more pleasurable nature and I have never done ANYTHING like this before (in my life), so will be a MASSIVE challenge! For the next 6 months, I shall be cycling miles and miles in preparation for the ride.
This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of Myeloma and help make a difference to the lives of patients living with Myeloma. So please dig deep, make the saddle sores worth it, and help me smash my fundraising target!!
Thank you so SO much for your support and encouragement in advance!
