Twenty pounds in 10 weeks - can I do it?! Big weigh in will be the 10th December.....! 

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Having decided I needed to lose some weight, trying and failing to do so, I decided that I needed a fantastic incentive to spur me on!

What better incentive to encourage me than knowing my efforts could help raise money for the GMYN Youth Panel at the same time! Having had the privilege of working with these inspiring young people on the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme, I wanted to do something to raise funds for the continuation of the Youth Panel and their great work. I have been very fortunate and had many amazing experiences in my life and I’d like other people to have that too.

By donating you will be helping young people like Sara … 

Before joining GM Talent Match, Sara, 21, was struggling with her confidence and communication skills. She wanted to be more independent so she had been volunteering in a local charity shop. Since joining the Youth Panel Sara’s confidence has gone from strength to strength.

She has grabbed every opportunity presented to her, overcoming fears along the way, and she has presented at Employer Workshops in front of around 60 people and at our Big Conversation with over 100 attendees, something she would have thought impossible when she first came to the programme.   

Because all Youth Panel members have at some point experienced barriers to employment, their insight is integral to the support, planning, design and most importantly, the evaluation of Greater Manchester Talent Match.

Youth Panel members sit on different strategic groups within the programme and work directly with employers and key stakeholders - such as Job Centre Plus and local authorities - helping to shape future opportunities for young unemployed people.

Many thanks for all your support - it'll make a real difference to me (I will hopefully be a shadow of my former self!) and the inspirational young people of the GMYN Youth Panel!
