Katie/Mum/Omah passed away on 1st October 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Walking (especially with a golf club in hand) was a real passion of hers and something she really missed being able to do in her final months. Walking in her memory, finishing at Kington golf club (where we scattered her ashes on a windy Christmas eve - see photo), therefore seems an appropriate way to celebrate her life. The  idea was conceived at St Michael's Hospice on a sunny September evening in 2019. This is an amazing place with wonderful staff, who made Mum's final weeks as comfortable as possible. The hospice is funded purely by donations so please help motivate us by donating - we plan to walk around 50 miles over three days of the August Bank Holiday, from Monmouth to Kington via Pandy and Hay-on-Wye (27th - 29th). This will be quite a challenge, especially for the kids (Daisy & Alice) and Septuagenarians taking part (i.e. dad!). Even better, do come and join us for a few hours (or days)!
