We support education & healthcare projects to help people of the Waterberg in S Africa

Story

Next January Kate Moir and Olivia Williams are taking part in a challenging horse riding safari to raise funds for The Waterberg Trust.

The last time the two of us rode together was as teenagers in the Burton Pony Club cross-country hunter trials.  We believe we won this event, but memory might well be failing us!  Since then our riding experience has been sporadic at best. So just the challenge of preparing for the ride is daunting to say the least.

The horse safari experts at Ant's Nest are hosting a ride that will take us at a fast pace over the hills and through the private game reserves of the Waterberg region, ending at Jembisa on the Palala River. We are aiming to ride about 200km over 6 days, spending 7-8 hours in the saddle a day.

The Waterberg Trust supports the vital work of Save the Waterberg Rhino and local community health and education projects. 50% of funds
raised will go to Save the Waterberg Rhino, 50% will go to health, education and welfare projects in the area, which we hope to visit enroute.

We would be very grateful for your support. Rest assured we are paying all our own expenses for the ride and any donation you feel able to make will go direct to TWT, who will also gain from any Gift Aid.
