Story

It was all going so well...

Back in August I was on holiday and feeling lethargic. I didn't have a bike with me and so I decided to go for a run. I'd always hated running but arguably I'd never given it a proper go, only ever running because I was later for something. I put on some old trainers and five kilometers later my legs were in more pain than they had been in for quite some time, but it seems I had a new pastime.

At the time I was working for the Wildlife Trust and commuting by bicycle. A new job meant a sedentary train and I was in need of something to keep me moving and stop me from getting fat. At the same time the Trust was looking for people to run the marathon. So I signed up and started training. All was going well until an addition to the family arrived earlier than expected and all training stoped abruptly.

It's now been about six weeks since my last run, I have three weeks until the marathon and if I can get some runs in and get lucky enough to get some sleep I might just make it to the finish...
