We connect those with a spare room to host refugees and asylum seekers

I started this fundraiser to help others on the occasion of my Bar Mitzvah since there are many people who do not have the same opportunities that I have. I decided to set myself the challenge of running 1,000km in the 10 months leading up to my Bar Mitzvah (1st Jan - 31st October) and raise money for charity.

I had the idea of doing a long-distance challenge as the Hebrew reading for my Bar Mitzvah tells the story of Abrahams journey to Canaan. He travels with little guidance across many miles to a place that he does not know about and in some ways, he is like a refugee.  My Great Grandmother Hani Losch escaped Nazi Germany and travelled from Berlin to England. Thanks to her bravery I am alive today. She travelled approximately 1000km.  In celebration of her and to connect my Hebrew portion to a charity project I decided to run 1000km (roughly 30 km each week) and fundraise for Refugees at Home.

Refugees at Home is a fantastic charity that helps people who have travelled over long distances to England to settle in and find a new and better life.

I am very grateful for your sponsorship. I am nearing the end of my 1000 km challenge and am racing ahead at just over 900 km.  Your sponsorship will help me push through the last stretch and raise funds for such an important cause.  Thank you so much!

I recently finished running 1000km (completed in 8 months and 6 days) and the photo shows part of my celebration. As a further challenge I have decided to run a marathon one go on 12th September in London with my Dad. Thank you so much for sponsoring me so far.
