A UK trust has offered PBI a matching grant for up to £20,000 maximum if we are able to raise matching funds from other donors. The deadline is 31 May so any funds received before that date will be doubled by this trust!!

PBI volunteers provide life-saving protection to defenders of the rule of law around the world. This year marks the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta and we want to honour the many defenders who endeavor to stand up for the what the Magna Carta represents by challenging repression and working to preserve the rule of law, democracy and human rights.

PBI and the "Alliance for Lawyers at Risk" have been offered a special opportunity to raise funds for the protection of defenders of the rule of law, as well as for capacity building to assist them in their legal work through the "Alliance for Lawyers at Risk" network. The Alliance is a pro bono network of lawyers, city firms, and judges who offer a collective professional voice and expertise to support lawyers at risk.
