Its hard to believe that it's almost a year since we lost Jim, he was a wonderful husband, anyone who knew him knows he wasnt perfect but he was perfect for me! He was totally devoted to his children, he couldnt have loved Adele more & when the boys, Craig & then Callum arrived he adored them! Life would have been pretty perfect had it not been for his failing lungs!

All the funds we manage to raise will go to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle's Heart & Lung Patient Amenities Fund. There is a fantastic transplant team there, the care we received from them was amazing, from the time we were introduced to Professor Corrus to discuss a transplant, the time we spent there while Jim had assessments & we learned about the procedure & finally when Jim became so very ill, I was so grateful we were in Newcastle, I had no doubt that he would get the specialist care he needed. 

Although Jim & I talked often about what was to come, it was a shock when he became so ill within just a few days, he actually drove us to Newcastle on the Wednesday, we were only supposed to be there overnight, he died on the Saturday. I was & still am overwhelmed at kindness shown to my family, I remember thanking one of the coordinators over & over for arranging a flat for me & the kids in the hospital grounds. I was told that in order to take care of Jim they had to take care of us as they knew we were his priority, I would not have expected this level of care anywhere.
