As many of you know, I was diagnosed in 2006 with CLL. Thanks to the extensive research Bloodwise has done, and the pioneering treatments I received, I am now in remission and have been so for last nine years. I was very fortunate to receive a new drug called rituximab, which has enabled me to stay in remission a lot longer than my consultants first thought possible. This drug has been so successful, it is now widely used with this type of blood cancer and has had life changing results. I am one of the very lucky ones, but there are still thousands of people every year affected by blood cancer.

Because of this, I am cycling from London to Paris in September. It's about 500 kilometres and I aim to complete it within four days.

Bloodwise's motto is 'we won't stop until we've beaten blood cancer'. But they simply can't do this without your support.

The key to a cure is research, so please give generously.
