Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My mother died earlier this year, aged 90, through old age. She suffered from dementia, and lost her ability to live independently in her 80's and as a result we turned to Guildcare, a charity organisation that provides support and care for people in old age, to help provide that support and care, in the safe and secure surroundings of a specialist dementia care home. There are not enough of these types of organisations and resources around to support our loved ones and I want to help give Guildcare some of our own support back through this fundraising. I also hope that it raises awareness of this type of care that is so needed everywhere, not just in Worthing where Nancy lived for the best part of her life, to help our loved ones enjoy and get the best out of life through a safe and secure environment.
I am doing the Great North Run - a half marathon - as a personal challenge as well, along with my son Matthew. We have a team page as well and if you are also running the GNR and would like a worthy fundraising charity to support, please feel free to join the team..!
