Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 21st December 2017, my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer. We were told that it was advanced and very aggressive.
Dad had already done battle with bowel cancer, some 8 years ago and kidney cancer in January 2016. In August last year he was scanned and given the all clear so this news came as a real shock to family and friends.
There was little Doctors could do for his condition other than keep him comfortable; dad's condition deteriorated rapidly.
His wishes were to spend his final days at The Martlets Hospice, Hove. Dad always thinking of others wanted to take the pressure off of mum and the family.
On Saturday 6th January 2018 dad moved into The Martlets, he passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday 11th January. These three weeks have turned our world upside down.
What has stood out is the incredible care and support provided by the staff at The Martlets to dad, mum and our family, both whilst he was there and since he has passed.
The Martlets Hospice care for people living with terminal illness. The care is only free thanks to the generosity of people like you. Every donation you make will help The Martlets change lives.
Through donations raised from this bike ride we aim to support The Martlets, to continue their amazing work with families in this very challenging period of their lives.
Thank you
Paul
