Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For some reason best known to myself I have decided to run in the London Marathon on 26th April 2015. As is traditional with such madness, I have decided to try and raise money for charity.
I will be running for Aimee’s Fund. Aimee was the daughter of my friend Wendy. Wendy and I have been good friends for 40 years. Sadly on 16 June 2013 Aimee died very suddenly and unexpectedly from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). She was 21. Since then, as a tribute to Aimee, her family have been fundraising for the Keech Hospice where she worked as a nurse.
The Keech Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults and children diagnosed with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Although it is an essential service, they have to raise around 75% of their running costs which are around £5 million per year.
For more information on the Keech Hospice and what they do, please visit their website www.keech.org.uk
