Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

By running in the Vitality London 10K as part of Team Callon, I'm aiming to raise as much money as possible for St Catherine's Hospice in Preston who took care of my brother-in-law's brother, Leon Callon who sadly passed away in March this year from a gastointestinal stromal tumor (GIST).

While I didn't know Leon that well, I could tell by the couple of times I met him and the number of people at his funeral that he was well loved and he was the life and soul of the party. I was fortunate enough to go to his last hurrah at a surprise Vegas style party for him at the famous Sir Loin pub in Houghton, Lancs where the finale was him singing Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds to all present, which was amazing!

St Catherine's were so kind and generous to Leon and his family in his last days, making them all- particularly Leon - feel as comfortable as was possible at a very difficult time. It costs 5.2m pounds a year to keep St Catherine's running, with the NHS providing just 1.7m pounds of that, so they rely heavily on donations to help them give the type of care needed for families, like Leon's. I think its important that St Catherine's can continue to do this, so I would be so grateful if you can donate what you can to this very worthy cause.

Team Callon has already raised over 40,000 for St Catherine's, and I want to add a decent wedge to that already significant amount, so please, it only takes a minute to donate.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send you money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
