We’re Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. We’re here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. By 2050, we believe everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well. But we need to act now.

Story

On 16th March 2010 is my 70th birthday and I am celebrating it by walking Hadrians Wall Path 85 miles from Wallsend to Bowness from 29th April to 4th May 2010 for 2 charities. I will be walking with my son Simon, as it is something we always said we would do opne day and now seems an appropriate time.

This site is devoted to my wife who nearly 6 years ago was diagnosed with breast cancer, and has made a full recovery with the help of a skilled surgeon and devoted nursing staff. All monies raised on this site will go to my chosen charity of 'Breakthrough Breast cancer'. Please support this great work to fund research.

I am also supporting 'Help for Heroes' on my other site at www.justgiving.com/peter-carter-is70

This is on behalf of my 2 sons who are serving officers in the Royal Air Force and have both returned safely from areas of conflict.

Thursday 29th April and off to Newcastle to meet up with Simon for an overnight stay, then start walking am Friday 30th. Watch this site and my 'Help for Heroes' site for updates on our progress.

Thursday,29th April.

Set off from Leicester Railway Station feeling extremely nervous.More confident on meeting Simon.

Friday, 30th April.

Wearing their Just Giving teeshirts,Vulpis Argentium,(Silver Fox, Peter), Et Filius,(And Son,Simon),they walked 20 miles in 7hours.To their delight, there were 100’s of sand martins flying around a sand bank by the river.

Saturday,1st May.

In good spirits, completed the day’s schedule in record time, despite the rain. Were well looked after in the B&B.

Sunday,2nd May.

It was a cold start to the most challenging day.Reita passed on many messages of support from Church, friends and relatives.to encourage them. There was snow on the mountain tops as they climbed up and down the difficult terrain. At the end of the day, Peter was exhausted, however Simon was pleased with their achievement.

Monday,2nd May.

Bright and frosty day, refreshed and ready to continue.
