During the past 20 years our charity has created the world's largest database of patients with Barrett's oesophagus, a pre-cancerous change in the lining of the gullet which can predispose to the development of a specific gullet cancer, which is on the increase, and our research results have been published and presented world wide so as to help to prevent the development of this cancer which has a poor outlook and the UK has the highest increasing incidence of this cancer in the world.
