My Pops passed away on the 12th of September 2016, I still miss him everyday. 

He was stricken with the terrible disease which is Alzheimer's and we lost the man we knew gradually over 10 years. His body succumbed to the illness but the grandfather we loved had been gone for sometime. 

He was a chemist by trade such a fountain of knowledge. He knew the Luna calendar, could quick fire any times table, remember his national service number by heart but could not recall that he had just eaten one yoghurt before reaching for another. 

So I will run, I will jog, I will walk and most probably crawl. I will get to that finish line as he is with me every step of the way and we will conquer this cruel illness.
