Story
THANK YOU to all of you who supported us for our ride.
It wasn't my intention to dispel the myth that the more cycling you do, the easier it gets, but myth it is! 52 miles around the oft polluted, vehicle-ridden streets of the concrete city were definitely more gruelling than the countryside jaunt 3 weeks ago in Somerset. 30 degrees and no cloud cover didn't help. But it was beautiful and it was fun and it was worth every slipped gear and emergency stop. And I did get to see the Thames Barrier, which I'd never witnessed before; and Ham House (worth a visit); and a whole host of quaint / opulent / quirky / idyllic / peaceful residences along the way. And we did get a medal each!
We took a few pics (we didn't stop much). My favourites are the elephants, 258 of which were congregated in the Royal Chelsea Hospital grounds to see us off.
If you haven't sponsored us, please do - this site remains open for a few weeks yet.
THANKS!
