[Insert humorous Victor Hugo quote about running a charity 5k to justify our ridicious team name] umm, I couldn't find anything on WikiQuote?
Introducing....
[drum roll please]
The running sensation that is: Evi & Emily (or Emily & Evi? Why do you get to go first?), aka Legs Miserables! And yes, we will be completing this 5K whilst tethered to each other. We're like a better looking but less efficient version of the Chuckle Brothers.
Exclusive interview extract with the runners:
"I'm not much of a runner, but I couldn't say no to being dragged round a field by my even less healthy friend." E1
"I might have been drunk when I signed us up for this, and now we have to raise £250 or else they might repossess my cat" E2
Pity donations welcome.
But on a more serious note:
Every day, 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. Too many still face isolation and depression, unable to achieve their potential in a world that blocks their way. RNIB wont stop until every last psychological and physical barrier has gone for good. With your help, RNIB can be there when people need them most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you donate is helping create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
And it turns out Victor Hugo has indeed written the perfect prose for our fun run:
"Let us say in passing, to be blind and to be loved, is in fact-- on this earth where nothing is complete-- one of the most strangely exquisite forms of happiness. To have continually at your side a woman, a girl, a sisters, a charming being, who there because you need her, and because she cannot do without you, to know you are indispensible to someone necessary to you.. few joys can equal that."
