Story
Hello everyone,
Following on from the success of last year's charity pole-a-thon where we raised £424 for Berkshire Women's Aid, we have decided to host another one this year!
On the 30th November RUPFS will once again open its doors to all, giving everyone full access to our studio and providing an opportunity to experience the joy of pole fitness to those of all abilities!
This year we will be raising money for the No 5 Youth Counselling and Information Service, a local charity in Reading. They provide an early intervention service that aims to prevent the development of more serious problems caused by mental or physical ill-health, or other challenging circumstances, by providing support and advice to children and young people and their families regardless of background or identity. This service is offered to all those who live, work or study in Reading and the surrounding area.
In addition to all of this, they run an outreach program which includes counselling sessions in local schools and through their Young Ambassador scheme, they also support and train young people to deliver talks, workshops and events directly to their peers.
This vital service operates exclusively from the donations they receive and the time given by their volunteers, so any amount you can give would be an enormous help.
So whether you are a seasoned poler, or if you've never poled before, why not come on down to Reading University's Sports Park and help us to support a wonderful cause? The event will be held in Studio 1, 13:00 until 16:00. Entry will be given upon donation with a minimum recommended donation of £1. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the No 5 Youth Counselling and Information Service.
