Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
From April 2012 to April 2014 I set myself a challenge to raise money and awareness of pancreatic cancer after watching my mum battle against this terrible disease. I decided that I would complete the London marathon as it was the worst challenge I could think of, I am not a runner and never will be. I knew it would be hard but nothing compared to the battle that those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer have to face. I set myself the aim of raising £2500, the pledge needed for a charity place and set about pounding the pavements. Through wind, rain, snow, tantrums, sunburn, lost nails and some messed up bio-mechanics I managed to cross that finish line for my mum and all the purple stars in the sky surpassing my wildest fundraising dreams, thanks to the help of my companions the Kookie Kats!!!!
The 2 year challenge may be over but still the purple battle rages on..................
Although I have not been so active in my fundraising all things purple are never far from my mind and never will be until the balance is equalled out.
Here is my original story...
As some of you will know my mum was a beautiful, brave and invincible woman yet even she could not compete with the force that is pancreatic cancer. Having watched her fight I can not sit back and do nothing so over the next 18 months (her battle from diagnosis) I will attempt to do all I can to stop this terrible, evil disease!!!!
For the past 6 months the Kookie Kats have been up to all sorts of mischief spreading awareness of pancreatic cacner while raising money offline. 500 of the pesky little critters have been handstitched and sold. The Kookie kats are going to be continuing on their mission however, more challenges are in the pipeline.
