Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Rae and in April this year I will be running the Strongman run (18k giant obastacle course) in Nurburgring, Germany in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital a charity close to my heart.

On the 21st of June 2010 the beautiful Stanley Goodacre was born a healthy happy baby boy. Sadly at just 4 months old Stanley caught RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). RSV is a very common virus that leads to mild, cold-like symptoms in adults but can be more serious and sometimes fatal in young babies.

Stanley spent the last 3 weeks of his short life in GOSH when on the 26th November 2010 at just 5 months old Stanley was no longer strong enough to fight the virus and passed away at the side of his loving parents.

In the short time Stanley was at GOSH he received superior care and kindness from the staff who made sure his family were able to spend every moment by his side.

This is why your sponsors are so important to help GOSH continue doing the amazing work that they already do. GOSH needs to raise over £50 million every year to help keep the magic alive.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks

Rae Spencer

STRONGMAN RUN

The distance of the track will be roundabout 18 kilometers, i.e. 2 laps of 9 kilometers and we plan to provide about 14 obstacles per lap. In addition to dexterity, climbing, jumping and swimming short distances, also speed will be necessary to manage the course. The route also includes gravel pits, forest, as well as uneven ground with potential hidden roots, wires, reinforcing steel, construction debris or stones which surface due to earth erosion, maceration or running over. Slipping hazard constantly exist. We therefore point out that injuries may occur through!

TIME LIMIT
The track has to be managed within the time limit of 3:30h (your personal net time). Every runner, who fails to finish within this timeframe will be
reported as “FAILED” in the final list of results. Nevertheless, the run can be finished by every participant who crosses the finishline until 5 pm, of course.
