Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you know, after my GCSEs I will be sailing around Britain with family and friends, who will be joining me as crew at different stages of the trip.

I will be Skippering my Dad’s 38ft yacht, Jameryn.

Sailing around Britain has been an ambition of mine for a long time now and this summer I will be fulfilling my dream, as well as raising money for a charity of my choice, the Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge.

I have chosen this charity, in memory of my late grandmother, Christina and John McCullagh one of my father’s sailing friends. They were both cared for exceptionally well during the last weeks of their lives by the Hospice.

Sailing has been a passion for me since the first time I was put on a boat at 4 months old. I did my first English Channel crossing whilst strapped into a baby seat. I learnt to sail single handedly at the age of 5 on a local lake at Papercourt Sailing Club.

I have sailed in 12 different countries and feel that I now have sufficient experience to be able to take on my personal Round Britain Challenge.

I will leave Portsmouth Harbour on the 26th June and the Trip should take approximately 30 days, including several overnight passages.

In October 2009 a serious drop in donations meant that the Sam Beare Hospice was forced to make cuts to their services and the Day Care facilities were suspended.  An Emergency Appeal was launched to try to reinstate Day Care and also to ensure that other vital services were not put at risk.  Thanks to everyone’s inspiring efforts and generosity, nearly £300,000 additional funds were raised for the first quarter of the Emergency Appeal.  This means that at present no other services have been re-opened, but only for one day a week

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

SO PLEASE DIG DEEP AND DONATE NOW

THANK YOU
