Story
I would like to raise as much money as possible to support the work of the PSP Association, and to raise awareness of PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).
In February 2009 my girlfriend's father, Alan Ponting, lost his 4-year battle with the disease.
PSP is a rare condition where brain cells progressively become damaged over time. Predominantly first diagnosed in those aged 60-65, symptoms include loss of balance, irritability, and apathy. Later forgetfulness, and speaking and swallowing functions are impaired.
First, I will walk the Cumbria Way (70 miles from Ulverston to Carlisle) over six days in mid-September 2014.
Finally, I will run the Great Eastern Run (half marathon) on October 12th 2014, and hopefully run well-under 80 minutes for a new personal best time.
Your generous support will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks!
Rich
