Story

Dear Friends,

On 22 October 2012 my father passed away after an 8 month battle with lymphoma. For the last 6 weeks of his life he received care with the support of Shipston Home Nursing, a charity that specialises in giving palliative care to terminally ill patients within their own home in the South Warwickshire area.  Although a regional charity they were invaluable in giving my family and I support in what was an extremely distressing time and as such I cannot thank them enough.

I shall be competing in the BUPA great Birmingham run on 20 October in memory of my father and all charitable donations will go to Shipston Home Nursing. To make it a little more interesting from a personal point of view it is my intention to run the course in a personal best time of sub 1 hour 50 mins. So as the saying goes no matter how big or small all donations will be gratefully received.

About the charity

We are a local charity that has been operating since 1997. We care for people with life limiting illnesses and nurse them at home, free of charge. Our nurses specialise in palliative care and look after the patient and their family in their own homes throughout the period of their illness.
