Hi everyone:
On the 14th May : Me, Jonny, Matty and Melanie are all running the Leeds Marathon and Leeds Half Marathon to raise as much money as we can for the Leeds Hospitals Charity to support Rob Burrow !
Please help us raise as much money as possible to help support Rob Burrow and his bid to build the Rob Burrow Centre for MND. It’s such an awful disease and we really need to find a cure and the Rob Burrow Centre is going to help towards this goal.
It is going to be so special for all of us by running for Rob’s charity to help raise money towards building the MND Research Centre and the legacy that will leave in finding a cure.
Jonny: my words:
This will be my first ever marathon and I couldn’t think of a better cause to run for. We lost my aunty to MND in 2020 at a time when we weren’t allowed to say goodbye. Then there is the Rob Burrow, a sporting legend whose career I watched from the start and to his very last game. I couldn’t think of a better cause to run my first marathon for.
Jonny
Richard: my words:
Rob Burrow MBE is one of my heroes who has always been a sporting inspiration for myself and with what has happened with him and his illness I feel proud that I will be able to help raise funds for the new Rob Burrow Centre for MND Research to help find a cure for MND and help offer as much support as possible to the MND community. I also have Rob’s autobiography book that I am currently reading, he is such an inspiring human being as is his fellow ex Leeds Rhinos team-mate Kevin Sinfield who has been challenging himself physically to raise millions for MND. Rob, also like me being a small sportsman at 5ft4, albeit he is a professional and I am an amateur - has always been an inspiration to me.
I decided to join the Leeds Hospitals Charity and run the Rob Burrow Marathon for the MND appeal to build the Rob Burrow Centre here in Leeds!
Richard
Help us raise £5 million to build a specialist MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Care Centre in Leeds, to give people living with MND the best quality of life.
By donating to our appeal, you can help us create The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, which will see all MND services housed under one roof for the first time.
For carers of those with MND it is important to know that their loved ones are in the best possible place. Something every MND sufferer and their families deserve. Although the news wont be any better, it will be easier to come to terms with in a purposely built care centre that meets the needs of every MND patient.
