Story
Peter Webb, my dad, got diagnosed with parkinsons dimentia. It changed him and changed us as a family. I watched my mum care for her best friend, partner and husband of over 60 years till the very end. It was hard to watch but inspiring at the same time. The Beatles sang, "All you need is love", how true this is. He was my dad, although he didn't know me anymore, but now and again you'd get him back, just a sentence, just a wink or an expression and now and again his sarcasm, which I really miss. And as I type this last line my eyes fill up with tears and I can hear him say " you soft pillock". Love you, miss you, cheers dad.
24 hours to ride your bike.
Il be settling off on a 24 hour journey in and around my home town of southport. The route il keep on doing throughout the 24 hours is a 30 mile loop, taking in some beautiful countryside lane's and seaside views, il also be using a section of the, trans penine trail.
Why don't you join me? You can do this literally by getting in touch and riding along with me or, just get your bikes out on the 16th of July and go for a quick ride. Why not use the cycle lanes on the beach front and give your support for the ride.
If like me you bought a bike during covid but unlike me you haven't used it, get off your backside, grab the kids or your partner (family, loved ones) and ride your bikes for someone you love or miss. That's what I'm doing. Come on join in, you never know, you might even enjoy it.
